Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
Traffic is light and moving at normal speed. You drive in the right lane of a road with two lanes in your direction. A yellow diamond sign shows two lanes, and the right lane line bends in toward the left lane. What must you do?

Correct answer: Merge into the left lane when it is safe, and yield to traffic in that lane
Why
The Lane Ends sign warns that two lanes will soon become one. Signal early, check your mirror and blind spot, and move over when there is a safe gap, because drivers in the ending lane must yield. When traffic is heavy and slow at a lane closure, Minnesota asks drivers to use the zipper merge: stay in your lane to the merge point and take turns.
