Your light is green, and you want to turn right. A pedestrian with a WALK signal is in the crosswalk of the street that you will enter. What should you do?
A plans a right turn on green while B, with a WALK indication stated on the card, crosses the receiving street.
Correct answer: Wait until the pedestrian is out of your path, then make the turn
Why
Right turns cross the path of pedestrians who walk beside your car, and those pedestrians often have the WALK signal at the same time as your green light. Before you turn, look to the right and ahead for pedestrians and bicyclists. A pedestrian who is already in the crosswalk when the signal changes may finish the crossing, so look again before you go.
