Intersections & Right-of-WayStandalone practice
You reach an intersection that has no signs or signals. At the same time, a car reaches it from the road on your left. Both of you plan to go straight. Who must yield?
A approaches northbound and B approaches from A’s left; both arrive together at an uncontrolled intersection.
Correct answer: The other driver must yield, because that car is on your left
Why
The same left-right rule applies at an all-way stop or a flashing red light when two drivers arrive together. A driver at an unlawful speed loses the right-of-way. Even when you have the right-of-way, be ready to stop if the other driver does not yield.

A pedestrian starts to cross your street from the far side. The pedestrian is now in the opposite lane and walks toward your lane. What must you do?You drive on a four-lane street. A power outage has turned off the traffic signal at the next intersection: no lights show in any direction, and no officer directs traffic. A car on the two-lane cross street, to your right, reaches the intersection at about the same time as you. What should you do?
