Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You come to a railroad crossing that is marked only by this white X-shaped sign. There are no lights and no gates. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, look and listen both ways, and stop if a train is near
Why
If a crossing has more than one track, a plate below the crossbuck shows the number of tracks. After one train passes, wait until you are sure that no second train comes on another track. An EXEMPT plate means that buses and trucks that usually must stop may cross without a stop, but they must still look.
