Weather, Visibility & EmergenciesStandalone practice
Light rain begins after two weeks of dry weather. What should you expect from the road, and what should you do?
Correct answer: The road is slick now, as rain mixes with oil and dust; slow down and leave more space.
Why
Wet pavement makes it harder to stay on the road in curves and adds to your stopping distance, and wet fallen leaves can be just as slippery. Turn off cruise control on wet roads: if the tires lose traction, it keeps sending power to the wheels and can cause a loss of control.
