Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You need to back out of your driveway onto a street. How should you check the path behind your vehicle?
Correct answer: Check behind the car before getting in, then turn and look out the rear window as you back slowly
Why
It is hard to see behind a vehicle, so back up as little as possible; in a parking lot, choose a space you can drive forward out of. Walk around the car before you get in, because children and small objects can be hidden below the windows. While backing, turn so you can look directly through the rear window, go slowly, and use a helper outside the vehicle when you can.
