The highway is covered with packed snow, and you want to lower your chance of a skid. Which plan follows the Nebraska manual?
Correct answer: Slow down, turn off cruise control, and make speed and steering changes gradually.
Why
Tires have much less grip on packed snow, so a sudden brake, turn, or burst of power can start a skid. With cruise control off, you control each change in speed with your own foot. When you drive uphill, give only enough power to keep your speed so the wheels do not spin, and keep your windows clear.
