Rain begins as you pass a yellow diamond sign that shows a car with two wavy tire tracks behind it. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, and make your steering, braking and speed changes gently
Why
Wet pavement gives your tires less grip, so stopping takes longer and sudden moves can start a skid. At higher speeds, tires can ride on a film of water and lose contact with the road; this is hydroplaning. Leave a larger following distance and use low-beam headlights in rain. Nebraska's basic speed law requires a speed that is safe for weather and road conditions.
