You come to an intersection where a red eight-sided sign with the word STOP faces you. You see no other vehicles or people. What must you do?

Correct answer: Stop fully at the stop line or crosswalk, then go when it is safe
Why
The red octagon is used only for STOP signs, so you can know its meaning even when snow or dirt hides the word. Nevada law sets the stop point: a marked stop line first, then the near side of the crosswalk, then the point nearest the intersection where you can see cross traffic. After the stop, yield to pedestrians and to any cross traffic that is close enough to be a hazard. A rolling stop gives you less time to notice a car or a person that you did not expect.
