Freeways & High-Speed RoadsStandalone practice
You drive on a freeway. The overhead signal above your lane shows a red X with the word CLOSED. What must you do?
Blue A drives in the right freeway lane. A gantry holds a red X panel marked CLOSED above that lane.
Correct answer: Merge safely into a lane that shows a green arrow.
Why
Nevada's active traffic management signs show the status of each lane over the freeway. A green down arrow with OPEN means you may drive in that lane at the posted limit, and a yellow X is a warning. These signs often come with a lower speed limit near a crash or work zone, so check the speed sign too.
