Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You drive at 60 mph in the far-left lane of a four-lane freeway outside any city. The limit is 70 mph. A faster car comes up behind you in your lane. You are not passing anyone or preparing to turn. What does Nevada law require?
Blue A travels at 60 mph in the far-left of four rural freeway lanes with a 70-mph limit. Faster silver B approaches behind, and A is not passing.
Correct answer: Move out of the left lane when you can do so safely
Why
The rule does not apply inside a city or town, when you are passing, when you prepare for a left turn, in a lawful HOV lane, or when traffic, weather, hazards or an officer make the left lane necessary. On any road, slower traffic should keep right so that others can pass safely. Keeping the left lane open also reduces risky passing on the right.
