Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You approach a two-lane roundabout with a YIELD sign at your entry. You are in the right entry lane to take the first exit. A car is circling in the inner lane toward your entry, and the outer lane is empty. What should you do?
A waits in the right entry lane at a YIELD sign to take the first exit. B is approaching the entry in the roundabout’s inner lane; the outer circulating lane is empty.
Correct answer: Wait for the car in the inner lane to pass, then enter at a safe gap in both lanes
Why
Before you reach a roundabout, read the signs and pavement arrows and choose the lane for your exit. Inside, travel counterclockwise, to the right of the center island, keep your lane, and do not pass or drive beside large trucks, which may need both lanes. If an emergency vehicle is coming, do not enter; if you are already inside, drive on to your exit and then pull over to the right.
