Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You are in the left lane of an interstate highway, which is a divided highway. You notice that your exit ramp is right beside you on the right and is about to end. What should you do?
A travels in the left of two interstate lanes. The right-side exit separates from the highway beside A and is about to be passed.
Correct answer: Continue to the next exit and use it to change direction
Why
A missed exit costs a few minutes, but a sudden swerve, a stop, or backing up on a high-speed road can cause a serious crash. Stay in your lane at the speed of traffic, take the next exit, and follow the guide signs back to your route. Backing on the shoulder or roadway of a controlled-access highway is also against the law.
