Passing target: 80% (32/40)
On a two-lane road, an oncoming car suddenly drifts into your lane. Braking alone will not avoid it. Which way should you steer?
Oncoming B is in A’s lane on a two-way road. A clear shoulder lies to A’s right, and the card states that braking alone will not avoid the approaching car.
Correct answer: Grip the wheel with both hands and steer to the right, away from other traffic.
Why
A driver who drifts across the center line often jerks back into their own lane, so an escape to the left can end in a head-on crash. The right side usually offers a shoulder or roadside. After the swerve, a quick counter-steer brings the car straight so you do not run off the road.
