Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
On a country road, you pass a round yellow sign with a black X and the letters R and R. No lights or gates are in sight yet. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, look and listen for a train, and be ready to stop before the tracks
Why
The round sign is an advance warning; the X-shaped crossbuck marks the crossing itself. State law requires a reduced speed when approaching a railroad crossing, and because buses with passengers and trucks with hazardous cargo must stop at every crossing, be ready to stop behind them. If a train is coming, stop no closer than 15 feet and no farther than 50 feet from the nearest rail.
