Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
Light rain has just started when you pass a yellow diamond sign that shows a car with two wavy tire tracks behind it. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, then brake, steer and accelerate gently to keep the tires gripping
Why
When pavement is wet, tires grip less, so stopping takes longer and turning without a skid is harder. State law requires a speed that is reasonable for the weather and the road, which can be well below the posted limit. Higher speed also raises the risk of hydroplaning, when the tires lose contact with the road and slide on a layer of water.
