Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You drive up an entrance ramp onto a highway. There is no Yield sign on the ramp, and a car in the right lane of the highway is next to you. Who must yield?
A travels along an entrance ramp beside B in the highway’s right lane. No YIELD sign is posted; the ramp continues ahead before it tapers.
Correct answer: You must yield to the highway traffic, even with no Yield sign on the ramp
Why
Highway traffic moves fast and cannot always change lanes or slow down for a merging car. The law puts the duty on the entering driver: adjust your speed in the acceleration lane, find a gap, signal, and merge without forcing others to brake. If no gap is there yet, adjust your speed and keep looking rather than force your way in.
