Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Your grandfather has a New York parking permit for people with disabilities. You borrow his car, with the permit, to go shopping alone. May you park in a space reserved for people with disabilities?
Correct answer: No, the permit is valid only while the car is carrying your grandfather.
Why
Reserved spaces are close to entrances so that people with severe disabilities can reach stores and services. When a driver without the right to use a space takes it, the person who needs it may not be able to get in at all. New York also honors disability permits and plates issued by other states.
