A breath test shows that a driver's BAC is 0.06 percent. What does that number describe?
Correct answer: The percentage of alcohol in the driver's blood
Why
Three things set your BAC: the amount of alcohol you drink, the time between drinks and your body weight. It does not depend on the type of drink or on how well you think you handle alcohol. For a 150-pound man, one 12-ounce beer, one 5-ounce glass of wine or 1½ ounces of liquor raises BAC by about 0.02 percent. Women often take longer to clear alcohol, so their BAC can stay higher for longer.
