Alex is 20. He got his first Class D license three months ago, after he passed the road test. He is now convicted of speeding. What happens to his license?
Correct answer: It is suspended for 60 days, and then a new six-month probation begins
Why
The same 60-day suspension follows a probation conviction for DWAI (alcohol), reckless driving, following too closely or taking part in a speed contest, or any two other traffic violations. A new violation of this kind in the second probation period brings a revocation of at least six months. Drivers with a junior license have a separate set of rules.
