If hard braking locks wheels on a vehicle without ABS, what should the driver do?
Correct answer: Ease off the brake so the wheels can roll
Why
For a braking skid without ABS, release enough brake pressure for the wheels to roll and steering control to return. Look and steer where you want to go. Reapply the brakes as needed without locking the wheels. With functioning ABS, use firm steady pressure instead.
