Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You drive on a road that you do not know and see a yellow diamond-shaped sign with a black symbol ahead. Before you can read the symbol, what do the shape and color tell you?

Correct answer: A hazard or change in the road is ahead
Why
Warning signs give you time to adjust before you reach the hazard, such as a curve, a lane reduction, an intersection or deer. A yellow plaque with a number may come with a curve sign; it shows the highest recommended speed for that curve or turn. Learn the colors and shapes so that you can react early, even when snow or distance makes the symbol hard to read.
