Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
Your street meets a busier road at a downward-pointing red-and-white triangle with the word YIELD. A pickup on the busier road is about to reach the junction. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, stop if needed, and let the pickup pass before you enter
Why
If the road is clear, you do not have to stop at a YIELD sign: slow down, look, and go on at a safe speed. If you must stop, N.D.C.C. 39-10-24 puts the stop at the stop line, before the crosswalk, or where you can see the other road. Under the same law, a crash with a vehicle in the junction after you pass a YIELD sign without stopping is evidence that you did not yield.
