Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
You are 30 years old. Your adult friend rides in the front passenger seat and will not buckle up. Under Ohio's belt law, who is in violation?
Correct answer: Both of you, because the driver must also see that front riders buckle up.
Why
Safety belts keep you in your seat and lower the chance that your head and body hit the inside of the car in a crash. Wear the lap belt snug and low on the hips, and the shoulder belt across the shoulder and chest, never under the arm or behind the back. If the driver is under 18, every person in the vehicle must wear a belt, and there cannot be more riders than belts.
