Safe & Responsible DrivingStandalone practice
Your car hits another car at low speed on a city street. Nobody seems hurt, and both cars can still move. When may you leave the scene?
Correct answer: After you exchange names, addresses, plate numbers, and insurance details with the other driver.
Why
In Ohio, it is a crime to leave the scene of a crash without giving the required information. It becomes a felony if someone is seriously hurt or killed (ORC 4549.02). Turn on your hazard lights, check for injuries, and call 911 if anyone is hurt. If you hit an unattended vehicle, attach a note with your information where the owner will see it.
