You get ready to drive a car that has a driver airbag in the steering wheel. Where does the Ohio manual tell you to put your hands on the wheel?
A neutral front-view steering-wheel diagram shows its rim and center hub. No hand position is selected.
Correct answer: On opposite sides of the rim, at about the 4 and 8 o'clock positions
Why
A low grip on opposite sides keeps your arms out of the airbag's path and still gives full control. Hold the wheel firmly but gently, and turn it in the direction that you want the vehicle to go. When you back up, the manual gives a different grip: the left hand at 12 o'clock while you turn to look through the rear window.
