Your front-seat passenger says that the shoulder belt rubs the neck and wants to put it behind the back. What should you tell the passenger?
Correct answer: Wear the shoulder belt across the chest and shoulder, and the lap belt low on the hips.
Why
A belt protects you by holding the strong bones of the hips, chest and shoulder. Many vehicles let you raise or lower the shoulder belt anchor so it does not rub the neck. Ohio law requires the driver and front-seat passengers to wear all parts of the belt, properly adjusted.
