Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You drive on a one-way street with three lanes. You plan to turn left onto another one-way street. From which lane should you make the turn?
Three lanes run to the right on a one-way street that meets another one-way street. White arrows show the permitted directions. No car or route selects the turning lane in the question.
Correct answer: The far left lane, the one nearest the left curb
Why
On one-way and divided streets, the extreme lanes are for turns. A turn from a middle lane cuts across the path of drivers who go straight. If you are not in the correct lane, go on to the next intersection and turn from the correct lane there.
