You are on a two-way street with one lane in each direction. You plan to turn left onto another two-way street. How should you position your car?
A approaches a left turn on a two-way street with one lane in each direction. The intersecting street also has one lane each way.
Correct answer: Start close to the center line and finish in the lane just right of the new street's center line.
Why
A correct left-turn path keeps you out of the lanes of traffic that goes the other way. Signal and move close to the center line well ahead of the turn, but do not cross it early. After the turn, move gradually to the right if you need to. If you are not in the correct lane, go on to the next intersection and turn from the correct lane there.
