You plan to turn right into a driveway, and a car is behind you. At the latest, how far before the turn must your turn signal be on?
A approaches a driveway on the right side of a two-lane road. Car B follows A; the question image contains no signal-start distance.
Correct answer: 100 feet before the turn
Why
The same 100-foot rule applies to a turn at an intersection, into a driveway or onto a private road. The signal gives the driver behind you time to slow down, which prevents rear-end crashes. Oklahoma law also requires a signal before you stop or suddenly slow down when a driver behind you could be affected. Do not signal so early that other drivers think that you will turn at an earlier street or driveway.
