Passing target: 16 correct signs and 16 correct rules (TLA practice targets)
According to the MTO handbook’s safe-driving guidance, when should you signal an intended turn or move from your lane or a parked position?
Blue car A is beside the curb with no active indicator. Grey B is behind it in the same direction, and grey C faces the opposite direction across the centre line.
Correct answer: Before you turn, change lanes or leave the curb
Why
Signal before turning, changing lanes or pulling away from the curb, and check mirrors and blind spots before moving. A signal does not give you priority. HTA section 142 separately requires the relevant signal when another vehicle’s operation may be affected, and requires you to check that the movement can be made safely. The handbook’s consistent signalling advice is broader than an unconditional claim that every unsignalled movement is an offence.
