Passing target: 80% (28/35)
You are stopped at a red light in the left lane of a one-way street. You want to turn left onto a two-way street. No cars or people are near the intersection. What should you do?
A is stopped before a red light in the left of two northbound one-way lanes. The cross street carries opposing traffic separated by a double yellow line. No other road users are near the intersection.
Correct answer: Wait for a green light, then turn into the lane just right of the center line.
Why
The key is the street you turn onto. When it is a one-way street that moves to your left, all its traffic goes the same way as you, and Oregon allows the turn on red after a stop. When it is a two-way street, Oregon does not allow a left turn on red at all, even when the street looks empty.
