Passing target: 80% (28/35)
You drive in the left lane of a three-lane freeway. Your exit ramp starts on the right, but two lanes of traffic are between you and the ramp. What should you do?
Blue car A is in the left lane of a three-lane freeway. Silver cars occupy the two lanes to its right, and the exit ramp branches from the right side.
Correct answer: Stay in your lane, go on to the next exit, and find your way back from there.
Why
Most freeway exits are numbered, so you can watch for your exit early and move to the right lane in good time. If you are still in the wrong lane when the ramp comes, the next exit costs you only a few minutes. A last-second lane change, a stop or a move in reverse puts you in the path of fast traffic that does not expect it.
