On a road that is normally posted at 60 mph, you pass a 45 mph work-zone speed limit sign. A mile later, you pass the last cones and machines. You have not seen another speed sign yet. What is the speed limit now?
A drives beyond the last work-zone cones. The card states that the machines are also behind A and no later speed sign has appeared. A separate detail identifies the 45 mph sign passed one mile ago; no new speed sign is shown ahead.
Correct answer: Still 45 mph, until an End Work Zone Speed Limit sign or another speed sign
Why
A work zone can have hazards after the last machine, such as rough pavement, narrow lanes or a lane shift. The reduced speed also applies when you see no workers, by day and by night. Obey it until a sign ends it.
