Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You approach a downward-pointing triangle sign with a red border and the word YIELD. A car on the cross road is close to the intersection. What must you do?

Correct answer: Slow down, let the car go first, and stop if you need to.
Why
A yield sign tells you to slow to a safe speed and give the right of way to vehicles and pedestrians that are close enough to be a hazard. If the way is clear, you may go on without a stop. If traffic is close, stop at the stop line or crosswalk, and enter only when the other driver will not have to brake or swerve for you.
