Passing target: 80% (28/35)
On a two-lane road, a bus that carries farm workers stops ahead in the oncoming lane. Its red lights begin to flash. It is not a school bus. What must you do?
A approaches a stopped white worker-transport bus in the opposite lane of a two-lane road. B has no school-bus markings; its upper red warning lamps are lit with flash cues, and the card states that the lights are flashing.
Correct answer: Stop before you reach the bus and stay stopped until the red lights go off
Why
Buses for workers and for places of worship may use the same amber and red lights as school buses. Flashing amber lights mean the bus will soon stop, so prepare to stop. Flashing red lights mean stop before you reach the bus from either direction and stay stopped until the red lights go off. You need not stop when the bus is on the other roadway of a divided highway with an unpaved median or a barrier.
