Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
At noon on a clear day, you pass an orange diamond sign with black letters that reads ROAD WORK 1000 FT. You do not see any workers or equipment yet. What is the best response?

Correct answer: Slow down and be ready for workers, equipment or lane changes ahead.
Why
Work-zone signs have the same diamond shape as warning signs, but they are orange. The most common work-zone crash is a rear-end crash, so double your following distance and do not use cruise control. Pennsylvania law also requires your headlights, not only daytime running lights, in every posted work zone at any time of day. Fines are doubled for many violations in a posted active work zone.
