Ahead on the right edge of the road, the end of a bridge rail has this marker: a panel with yellow and black stripes that slope down toward the left. How should you pass it?

Correct answer: Keep to the left of the marker, the side toward which the stripes slope down.
Why
Object markers are placed on bridge ends, underpass supports, guide rails and other structures close to the road, and sometimes at drop-offs or sharp changes in the road edge. A marker for a hazard on the right tells you to keep left, and one for a hazard on the left tells you to keep right. Slow down near these objects, especially at night.
