Passing target: 83.3% (15/18)
You drive at 50 mph on a two-lane highway. Just past a hill crest, you pass this sign: a yellow diamond with a red octagon symbol and a black arrow that points straight ahead. You cannot see an intersection yet. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down now and get ready to stop, because a STOP sign that you cannot see is ahead.
Why
Advance warning signs give you time to slow down before a control that you cannot see yet. A similar yellow diamond with a traffic signal symbol warns of a traffic signal ahead: if the light is red or has just turned green, a line of vehicles may be stopped there. Slow down when you see either sign, and scan ahead for stopped traffic. At the STOP sign, stop at the stop line, or before the crosswalk or the intersection if there is no line.
