Warning, Construction & Information SignsStandalone practice
You drive at 45 mph on a rural road. Ahead, you see this sign: a wide yellow rectangle with one large black arrow that points to the left. How should you adjust your speed?

Correct answer: Slow about as much as for a turn at an intersection, because the road turns very sharply.
Why
The road bends the way the arrow points. Other signs of the same group also warn of sharp bends: sharp-turn signs, and rows of chevron signs, each with a black V-shaped mark that points the way the road bends. Chevrons often line the outside of a sharp curve, so they help you follow it at night. Do your braking on the straight road before the turn, and keep your car in your lane.
