Passing target: 80% (32/40)
It is daytime on this two-way road. Ambulance B approaches from behind with its siren sounding and a visible flashing red light. No traffic officer is directing A otherwise. What should A do?
On an ordinary two-way road, a white-and-blue box ambulance approaches behind blue car A with red warning lights flashing and its siren sounding. The roadway edge to A’s right is clear.
Correct answer: Move to the right edge clear of intersections and stop until B passes
Why
Yield to the approaching ambulance. Check, signal and move as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or roadway edge, parallel to it and clear of any intersection. Stop and remain there until the emergency vehicle has passed. Check again before safely rejoining traffic. Follow a traffic officer’s direction if one is given.
