B has moved left within its approach while preparing to turn right. A is approaching from behind in the right-hand lane. What should A do?
At a broad intersection, a long eastbound tractor-trailer B has moved left within the eastbound approach to prepare for a wide right turn. Blue A is behind it in the right lane. A curved curb borders the inside of the upcoming turn.
Correct answer: Stay back and out of the gap until the whole truck has turned
Why
A large truck may first move left to make room for a right turn. Do not squeeze between the truck and the curb: that space may be needed by the turning vehicle, and the truck driver may not see you there. Watch its signals, stay back and wait until the whole truck has cleared the turn before moving through. The truck driver must still make the turn safely.
