Traffic SignsStandalone practice
What does a red X displayed directly above a traffic lane mean?

Correct answer: Do not use that lane in your direction of travel
Why
A red X above a lane means that lane is closed to your direction of travel. Choose a lane indicated as open, and obey the lane controls and any directions from a traffic officer. A green downward arrow applies to the lane beneath it; it does not open a neighbouring lane showing a red X. If a control changes while you are already in a lane, respond safely to the instructions rather than making an abrupt unchecked move.
