Why should you reduce speed and remain ready to stop near children?
Correct answer: Children may move suddenly and have difficulty judging traffic.
Why
Children may be less aware of danger and have difficulty judging the speed and distance of vehicles. They can also react unexpectedly when startled. Reduce speed as the situation requires and be ready to stop; do not assume that an adult or eye contact removes the risk.
