Which headlights should you normally use when driving in fog?
A blue car travels along a road in fog with reduced visibility.
Correct answer: Low beams, with a speed suited to what you can see.
Why
Use low beams. High beams can create a bright screen in the fog. Slow enough to stop within the distance you can see, leave extra space and keep the windshield clear. Do not follow another vehicle’s tail lights as your only guide. If the fog becomes too thick to continue safely, find a safe place to stop clear of moving traffic.
