May a person ride an ordinary bicycle onto an expressway entrance ramp just because the shoulder appears wide?
Correct answer: No. The bicycle ban also covers the entrance and exit lanes.
Why
Ordinary bicycles are prohibited on limited-access roads and their entrance and exit lanes. A wide shoulder or the cyclist’s speed does not change that rule. Use a route on which cycling is permitted. Pedestrians have a separate rule, including a necessity exception; do not assume all road users share identical exceptions.
