A 21-year-old holds a regular Québec Class 5 driver’s licence. What alcohol rule applies while driving?
Correct answer: No alcohol may be present in the driver’s system.
Why
Drivers age 21 or younger must have no alcohol in their system while driving or having care or control of a road vehicle. The rule still applies at age 21 with a regular Class 5 licence. Learner and probationary licence holders are also subject to zero alcohol regardless of age. These rules are separate from the prohibition on impaired driving.
