You approach a railway crossing equipped with automatic warning lights and gates. Which check is still necessary?
Correct answer: Check for trains and make sure there is room to clear the crossing.
Why
Check for trains at every crossing, even when lights or gates are present. In heavy traffic, wait on the approach until you can clear the crossing completely. After a train passes, check for another train on another track before starting. Never drive around a lowered gate.
