You get into the car after a taller family member drove it. Before you start, how should you set your seat?
Correct answer: Sit upright, with at least 10 inches between your chest and the steering wheel
Why
A slouched or reclined position makes the safety belt and air bag work less well. Your heel should stay on the floor while your foot pivots from the brake to the gas, and the top of the wheel should be no higher than the top of your shoulders. Then set the rearview mirror to frame the rear window, and set the side mirrors to reduce blind spots.
