To reduce blind spots, how does the manual tell you to set the left outside mirror?
The empty driver’s place shows the closed left window and outside mirror. The mirror glass is an unresolved neutral reflection, with no own-car edge, selected angle or driver head position.
Correct answer: Lean your head on the closed window; set it so your car's side barely shows.
Why
From your normal seat, you will not see your own car in the outside mirrors, but each mirror covers about 12 to 16 more degrees to the side. For the right mirror, lean toward the center of the car and set it the same way. Still turn your head to check blind spots before you change lanes.
